
Vanessa Becerra, Joshua Blue & Darren Drone Headline the 2025 Berkshire Opera Festival

A free family concert kicks off the 2025 season.
Performance Date: March 2, 2025 (Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center)
The “Young Verdi in Love” recital features performances by soprano Kathleen O’Mara, tenor Lawrence Barasa, bass-baritone Alan Williams, and pianist Francesco Barfoed.
Performance Date: April 27, 2025 (St. James Place in Great Barrington)
The Berkshire Opera Festival Gala concert features operatic favorites from Handel, Mozart, Puccini, and more. The gala will feature the cast of “La Traviata” in addition to tenor Viktor Antipenko and soprano Raquel González.
Performance Date: June 1, 2025
A preview of the season’s main stage event, Verdi’s “La Traviata,” is held.
Performance Date: July 24, 2025 (Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center)
The 10th Anniversary Concert features top talent from previous and upcoming seasons along with members of the cast of “La Traviata.”
Performance Date: August 14, 2025 (Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center)
Soprano Vanessa Becerra performs the role of Violetta in “La Traviata.” She is joined by mezzo-soprano Erin Reppenhagen, Kalia Kellogg, tenors Joshua Blue and Maximillian Jansen, baritones Darren Drone, Yazid Gray, and Adam Partridge, and bass-baritone John Cheek. The Berkshire Opera Festival Orchestra and Chorus are conducted by Brian Garman. Jonathon Loy is the stage director.
Dramaturg Cori Ellison gives a free pre-show lecture prior to the first performance.
