
Tempesta di Mare Unveils 2025-26 Season

Up next in the Hidden Virtuosas series is “Agata’s Cantata.” Laura Heimes, Gabriela Estephanie Solís, and the Choir of Girard College perform music by female musicians of baroque Venice as well as the North American premiere of “Ecce Nunc” by Agata Canora della Pietà. They are joined by the Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra. Directors include Gwyn Roberts, Richard Stone, Paul Eaton, and Emlyn Ngai.

Handel’s “Messiah” features soloists Josephine Stoppelenburg, Sylvia Leith, Steven Soph, and Randal Scarlata. Also on the program is “Oratorio in Two Parts,” with movements from the 1742 Dublin and 1743 London versions. Bruce Barber conducts the Choir of Christ Church Christiana. Tempesta di Mare and the Philadelphia Baroque Orchestra are directed by Gwyn Roberts and Richard Stone. Emlyn Ngai serves as concert master.

Gabriela Estephanie Solís performs vocal works by Italian Baroque-era female composers in the next installments of “Hidden Virtuosas.”

The songbook of Francis Hopkinson is presented in the recital “Revolution Songs,” which takes place as part of the “Soundtrack of Independence” series. Performers will be announced at a later date.
