The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine Announces Fall & Winter 2026 Season

The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine has announced its fall and winter season. Here are the vocal programs on offer.

The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge performs a program of choral music under conductor Steven Grahl. The program includes works by  Tallis, Judith Weir, Bach, Holst, Taverner, and Howells.

Performance Date: Sept. 25, 2026


Musica Sacra, led by Music Director Kent Tritle, presents “SurRound: The Earth Remembers,” an immersive choral performance with singers placed throughout the Cathedral. The program features works by Mouton, Monk, and Shaw, with texts ranging from Rilke to traditional Quechuan and Navajo sources.

Performance Date: Oct. 7, 2026


The Cathedral Choirs and Orchestra present “The Joy of Christmas: Gloria in Excelsis,” featuring the Cathedral Choristers in their 125th anniversary season.

Performance Date: Dec. 11-12, 2026


The Cathedral presents “Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve,” offered in person and via livestream.

Performance Date: Dec. 24, 2026


The Cathedral’s New Year’s Eve Concert for Peace features performances by several Cathedral Artists in Residence, including organist David Briggs, soprano Susanna Phillips, musician Paul Winter, and composer Jason Robert Brown.

Performance Date: Dec. 31, 2026
