Sonya Yoncheva to Debut at ABAO With Recital

Soprano Sonya Yoncheva will make her debut at ABAO on Stage on May 15, 2021.

The famed soprano will perform recital featuring scenes from “Hérodiade,” “Thaïs,” “Iolanta,” “Le Villi,” “Rusalka,” “La Bohème,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Manon,” and “Carmen.” She will be accompanied by French pianist Antoine Palloc, who will also be making his company debut.

This recital is the latest in the ABAO’s recital series which included performances by Lisette Oropesa, Anita Rachvelishvili, and Sondra Radvanovsky, among others.

Next up for the Bulgarian soprano is a performance of “Tosca” at Vienna State Opera, alongside Piotr Beczala. The soprano will also appear as part of the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpelier this summer as well as the Ljubljana Festival.  She recently released a new album entitled “Rebirth” which features music by a wide range of composers including Cavalli, Monteverdi, Stradella, Gibbons, Alarcon, Strozzi, and many more.
