RTVE Symphony Orchestra Appoints New Principal Conductor & Principal Guest Conductor

The RTVE Symphony Orchestra has named Alexandre Bloch and Marc Korovitch Principal and Principal Guest Conductor, respectively.

They will begin their positions in the upcoming 2026-27 concert season. Bloch will succeed Christoph König as Principal Conductor. König will conclude his tenure in May 2026. Bloch said in a press release, “I am delighted to embark on this fascinating musical adventure alongside the wonderful musicians of the Orchestra, uniting this collective energy to shape new artistic projects and share them with audiences both in Spain and abroad.”

Korovitch extends his commitment as principal conductor of the Choir until 2029. In addition, he will replace Thomas Dausgaard as the Orchestra’s principal guest conductor in May 2026. Korovitch says, “I look forward to embarking on this exciting artistic adventure, working closely with one of the most energetic and wonderful teams I know.”
