Thomas Dausgaard Named Principal Guest Conductor of RTVE Symphony Orchestra

Danish conductor Thomas Dausgaard has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir. He will begin his tenure during the 2024-2025 season.

Dausgaard recently concluded his tenure as Chief Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, where he served from 2016 to 2022, and is currently the Laureate Conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and Honorary Conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra della Toscana. He has previously held roles as Principal Guest Conductor and Music Director of the Seattle Symphony.

Throughout his career, he has conducted the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Vienna Philharmonic, and Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, among others.

He has been recognized for his contributions to the arts with such prizes as the Danish Knight’s Cross and is a distinguished member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.
