Opéra de Paris’ ‘Ariodante’ Affected by Paris Strike

By Francisco Salazar

Opéra de Paris will perform Handel’s “Ariodante” in concert due to the strike.

The company said that “As a result of a strike followed by some of the Opera’s staff, the performance of Ariodante scheduled on Sunday 14th May 2023 at 2 pm will be performed in a concert version.”

As a result, the Paris Opera is offering compensation and proposing a 50% partial refund or a 100% refund for those not willing to attend.

This is the latest performance of “Ariodante” affected by the Paris strike. On April 20, the company performed the opera in concert, and on April 23, the opera was canceled.

“Aridoante” is set to run through May 20, 2023. The cast stars Emily D’Angelo, Matthew Brook, Olga Kulchynska, Eric Ferring, Christophe Dumaux, and Tamara Banjesevic. Harry Bicket conducts.
