The Opéra de Paris has announced a change to its opening night performance of ‘Les Contes d’Hofmann” on Nov. 30 due to the strike.

The company said, “As a result of a strike followed by some of the Opera’s staff, the performance of the opera ‘Les Contes d’Hoffmann’ on Thursday 30th November at 7:30 p.m. will be given in a concert version. The work will be performed by the soloists and chorus with costumes, as well as the orchestra, without staging and sets. We wish to apologize to spectators of this performance.”

As a result, the company is offering compensation for any inconvenience caused to those who attend this performance.” The Paris Opera is proposing a 50 percent partial refund and for those not wishing to attend the performance, audience members will have the option to exchange their ticket for another show of the 2023-24 season.

This is the latest performance affected by the strike following the cancelations of performances of “Cendrillon” and “Turandot.”
