National Forum of Music Announces 2024-25 Season

The National Forum of Music announces its 2024-25 and tenth anniversary season.

For the purposes of this article only vocal works are included.

Andrzej Kosendiak conducts the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic and soloists Anett Fritsch, Anna Mikołajczyk-Niewiedział, Krystian Adam Krzeszowiak, and Paweł Horodyski in Mozart’s “Mass in C minor,” KV 427. They are joined by the NFM Choir under the direction of Lionel Sow.

Performance Date: October 4, 2024

“Songs and Sonnets from Shakespeare” is performed by the NFM Choir under the baton of Lionel Sow. The concert features selections by Vaughan Williams, Mäntyjärvi, Tavener, Łukaszewski, and Shearing.

Małgorzata Podzielny conducts the NFM Girls’ Choir, NFM Boys’ Choir, and Rondo Vocal Ensemble in “The Whisper of Nature.” Mikołaj Szczęsny acccompanies at the piano.

Performance Date: October 27, 2024

Soprano Bruno de Sá joins cellist Jarosław Thiel and the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra in “Mille Affetti,” a concert of works by Beck, Reichardt, Cimarosa, Cherubini, Alessandri, Mozart, and Haydn.

Soprano Olga Pasichnyk performs Baley’s “Threnodies for soprano and two cellos” and Widmann’s “Sieben Abgesänge auf eine tote Linde” with pianist Michał Rot among others.

Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 in C minor “Resurrection” is presented by soloists Kateřina Kněžíková and Gerhild Romberger, and the NFM Choir and Polish National Youth Choir. Karel Mark Chichon conducts.

The Wrocław Baroque Ensemble gives a concert of works by Józef Zeidler.

Choirs of Singing Poland Lower Silesian Region presents “Let the Powerful Song Soar to Heaven” under the baton of Izabela Polakowska-Rybska.

Sondra Radvanovsky and Piotr Beczała star in the Opera Gala. Gianluca Marcianò conducts the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic.

Mark Padmore gives a solo recital with pianist Andrew West.

Mark Padmore, the NFM Girls’ Choir, NFM Boys’ Choir, NFM Choir, and Rondo Vocal Ensemble present Britten’s “Saint Nicolas Cantata.” Andrzej Kosendiak conducts the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra.

Paul McCreesh conductors Berlioz’s “L’enfance du Christ” with the NFM Choir. Soloist will be announced at a later date.

Soprano Aldona Bartnik and Naruhiko Kawaguchi on historical piano present “A Few Words about Love.”

Górecki’s Symphony No. 3 op. 36, “Symphony of Sorrowful Songs” is performed by the Dresdner Philharmonie. Soloists will be announced at a later date.
