Lorelei Ensemble Announces East Coast December 2025 Tour

By David Salazar

Lorelei Ensemble will tour the East Coast with performances of Scott Ordway’s “North Woods” as part of its “Frost and Fire” program.

The Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble, led by Artistic Director Beth Willer, will appear in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Dec. 11, 2025, Philadelphia on Dec. 12, Baltimore on Dec. 13, and Rockville, Maryland, on Dec. 14.

Ordway’s “North Woods” (2014) is a 15-minute choral meditation on wilderness, memory, and spiritual ecology and is inspired by fragments of Tacitus’ writings.

“North Woods is a work that has defined Lorelei’s sound for many listeners,” Willer noted per an official press release. “It carries with it the memories of the many singers who have lent their voices to its soloistic yet anonymous textures, of the places and spaces that we have offered it to, and of the friendship I hold with a composer who has known Lorelei since almost our very beginning.”

“Frost and Fire” also includes the world premiere of Whiteout by Eliza Bagg, selected through Lorelei’s recent call for scores from women, trans, and nonbinary composers. There will also be new arrangements by Laura Jobin-Acosta, Greg Brown, and Jocelyn Hagen.
