Juan Diego Flórez & Nicole Car Headline Wiener Staatsoper’s ‘Faust’ Broadcast

On April 29, the Wiener Staatsoper is set to broadcast a new production of Gound’s “Faust.”

The live performance will be presented without an audience and will feature a new production by Frank Castrof. Juan Diego Flórez will star in the title role alongside Nicole Car as Marguerite, Adam Palka as Méphistophélès and Étienne Dupuis as Valentin. Bertrand de Billy conducts.

Audiences can see “Faust” on ORF III on May 9 and on the Wiener Staatsoper’s online streaming platform on April 29. It will also stream on May 1 on Ö1.

“Faust” is the latest opera the company performs live without an audience following “Parsifal” with Jonas Kaufmann, “La Traviata” with Pretty Yende and Flórez, “Carmen” with Anita Rachvelishvili and Piotr Beczala, “Nabucco” with Plácido Domingo, “Tosca” with Anna Netrebko, “Der Rosenkavalier,” and “Werther” starring Piotr Beczala. All the productions have been streamed on ORF III and the company’s free streaming platform.
