On March 7, the Wiener Staatsoper is set to broadcast a new production of Verdi’s “La Traviata.”

The live performance will be presented without an audience and will star Pretty Yende as Violetta and Juan Diego Flórez as Alfredo. The cast will also feature Igor Golovatenko as Giorgio Germont. Giacomo Sagripanti will conduct the new production by Simon Stone.

Audiences can see “La Traviata” on ORF III and also on the Wiener Staatsoper’s online streaming platform.

“La Traviata” is the latest opera the company performs live without an audience following “Carmen” with Anita Rachvelishvili and Piotr Beczala,  “Nabucco” with Plácido Domingo, “Tosca” with Anna Netrebko, “Der Rosenkavalier,” and “Werther” starring Piotr Beczala. All the productions have been streamed on ORF III and the company’s free streaming platform.
