
Israeli Opera Performance Interrupted by Houthi Missile
By Francisco SalazarThe Israeli Opera’s performance of “Turandot” on July 1, 2025 was interrupted by a Houthi missile.
According to Opera Magazine, the missile was fired at Tel Aviv, and as a result, the opera house asked audiences to remain in their seats while the missile was intercepted.
The missile was intercepted from Yemen. According to the Associated Press, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has already vowed to retaliate against the Iran-aligned Houthis and said, “The fate of Yemen is the same as that of Tehran.” He added, “After striking the head of the snake in Tehran, we will also strike the Houthis in Yemen. Whoever raises a hand against Israel — that hand will be cut off.”
The Israeli Opera is currently performing “Turandot.”
