Israeli Opera Announces Program Change to 2024-25 Season Due to Ongoing War

The Israeli Opera has announced a program change for its 2024-25 season.

The company said that due to the current situation in Israel, Israeli Opera has dropped plans for its new production of “Peter Grimes” in December. As a result, it will perform a staged version of Britten’s “War Requiem” from Dec. 6 to 13.

The Requiem will star Peter Wedd, Aaron Blake, Anthony Webb, Alla Vasilevitsky, Shaked Strul, Eric Greene, Oded Reich, and Yair Polishook. Alexander Joel conducts the production by

Mariusz Trelinski was set to direct “Peter Grimes” which would have run from Dec. 6 through 16, 2024. The production was a co-production with the Polish National Opera.
