Francesca Federico & Lucas Bouk To Give Recital in NYC

By Afton Wooten

Soprano Francesca Federico and baritone Lucas Bouk are set to give a recital in NYC on Dec. 22.

The duo offers and evening of intimate art song featuring works such as Debussy’s “Les Cinq Poèmes de Charles Baudelaire,” Brahms’ “Zigeunerlieder,” Vaughn William’s “Songs of Travel” and songs by Rebecca Clarke, Amy Beech, and Tosti. They are accompanied by pianists Dan Franklin Smith and Kathryn Olander.

“Francesca and I have selected some pieces that we each love to sing. I’m especially excited to present Vaughn Williams’ ‘Songs for Travel’—this will be the first time I perform it,” Bouk told OperaWire. “The recital will offer a chance to sit with beautiful music, talk with interesting people over wine and chocolate in an intimate setting. It’s a salon with art song at the center of the evening.”

The recital takes place at the Cell Theatre from 7 – 9 p.m. Tickets are free of charge, thanks to Marty Jeiven sponsorship.
