
The Voice Studio of Thomas Clark Inc. to Present Uncut ‘La Fanciulla del West’
By David SalazarThe Voice Studio of Thomas Clark Inc. will present a rare, uncut production of Giacomo Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West.”
Featuring a new English translation by Thomas Clark, the limited eight-performance run will span two Northern California venues in Pacifica and Santa Cruz from August 21 through Sept. 13, 2026.
Directed by Gary L. Stanford, Jr., and conducted from the piano by Umberto Barisciano, the production stars soprano Jordan Best as Minnie and baritone Robert Balonek as Sheriff Jack Rance. The role of the outlaw Dick Johnson will be shared between tenor Xavier Prado (August 21–Sept. 6) and tenor John Kun Park (Sept. 11–13).
The production opens in Pacifica at the Terra Nova Theater for four performances on August 21, 23, 28, and 30, before moving to Santa Cruz for four performances at the Colligan Theater at the Tannery Arts Center on Sept. 4, 6, 11, and 13.
