
Cape Town Opera to Present ‘The Barber of Seville’

Cape Town Opera is set to present Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” from August 5 – 17, 2025.
Leading the cast is William Berger as Figaro, with Thando Zwane sharing the lead role. Innocent Masuku takes on the role of Count Almaviva and will share the part with Dumisa Masoka. Megan Kahts and Brittany Smith are double cast as Rosina. Other artists include Lonwabo Mose and Conroy Scott as Bartolo, Monde Masimini as Don Basilio, Garth Delport as Fiorello, Luvo Rasemeni as Ambrogio, Lusibalwethu Sesanti as Berta, and a male voice ensemble from the Cape Town Opera Chorus.
The production is musically directed and accompanied on piano by the Company’s Head Vocal Coach Jan Hugo. This new production is directed by Sylvaine Strike, in her operatic debut.
“The Barber of Seville” will take place at the Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town.
