
Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition Names 2025 Winners
By Francisco SalazarThe 43rd International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, which was held in Bern, has announced its winners.
The first prize went to baritone Geon Kim from South Korea, while the second prize went to soprano Valentina Pravdina from Russia. The prize was awarded to mezzo-soprano Valeriia Gorbunova from Russia, while the audience prize and Media Prize were awarded to soprano Tatev Baroyan from Armenia.
Chinese soprano Alma Ruoqi Sun was awarded the Handshake Awarded Engagement: Sächsische Staatsoper – Semperoper, and Armenian bass-baritone Gosh Sargsyan won the Handshake Awarded Engagement: Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
U.K. Mezzo-soprano Sophie Kidwell took home the Awarded Engagement: Bühnen Bern while Ukrainian soprano Daria Akulova was given the Awarded Engagement: Wexford Festival Opera.
Chinese soprano JINGYI YU was awarded the Hans Gabor Prize while the Zimbabwe soprano Molly Dzangare took the Awarded Engagement: La Monnaie/De Munt.
U.S. tenor Ben Reisinger obtained the Awarded Engagement: Sächsische Staatsoper – Semperoper, Ukrainian bass-baritone Ivan Lyvch was awarded the Awarded Engagements: Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Wexford Festival Opera, and Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and South African bass-baritone Lonwabo Mose won the Awarded Engagements: Bühnen Bern and The Metropolitan Opera – Lindemann Young Artist Development Program & Laffont Competition.
The Jane Carty Memorial Prize was awarded to Estonian soprano Annabel Soode, and the Awarded Engagement: Dutch National Opera was won by Armenian mezzo-soprano Ani Aghajanyan.
