Tenor Alasdair Kent has joined the roster of IMG Artists for general management.
Kent will be represented by Senior Vice President and Head of Vocal (Europe), Sam Snook.
Kent has built an international career as a leading interpreter of Rossini and Mozart. He also performs lead roles in music by Bellini, Donizetti and Bizet, as well as the Baroque and early-Classical music of Rameau and Gluck.
The tenor has perfumed at some of the leading opera houses in the world including the Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro Real Madrid, Teatro alla Scala, the Bayerische Staatsoper, Opernhaus Zürich, the Rossini Opera Festival and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
In a statement Kent said, “IMGA has been a cornerstone in the world of music for more than a generation, and is indelibly linked with the most important operatic artists of today and tomorrow. In an evolving operatic landscape, IMGA provides certainty, wisdom and excellence, and so I’m thrilled to start this new chapter with IMGA and with Sam. I have great respect and admiration for both the IMGA team and the many wonderful artists here, and consider myself very fortunate to be counted among them.”
Snook added, “I’ve known and admired Alasdair and his talent since his time at Philadelphia’s Academy of Vocal Arts. To have the opportunity to work with him now is very exciting, and I look forward to a fruitful relationship.”
