Vashon Opera will open its 17th season with Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera” in a concert performance starring international soprano Angela Meade as Amelia and tenor John Matthew Myers as Riccardo.

The opera will also feature baritone Andrew Krikawa as Renato, contralto Rachelle Moss as Ulrica and soprano Allison Pohl as Oscar. Charles Robert Stephens will sing Samuel, Michael Drumheller will appear as Tom, Zachary Lenox will perform Silvano and John Marzano will sing Un Giudice. Jim Brown conducts, with Alex Wren serving as technical director and lighting designer and Laura Bleakley as rehearsal pianist.

The performance will feature the Vashon Opera Chorus in collaboration with Pacific Lutheran University’s Choir of the West, prepared by Dr. Brian Galante. The production will be performed in Italian with English supertitles.

The showcase is set for Sept. 25 and 27, 2026.
