World Heart Beat to Present ‘Infinitesimal’

By Francisco Salazar

World Heart Beat is set to present “Infinitesimal,” a contemporary opera that blurs the lines between science, memoir, theatre, and music — transforming chamber opera into an expansive sonic landscape.

The work is inspired by research on near-death experiences and social psychology. “Infinitesimal” traces the brain’s final stages as documented in people revived after death, and the narrative unfolds through the intertwined life stories of Jeremy Weiss and Nicole Brancato — charting love, loss, laughter, and resilience.

The opera will be directed by Kevin Newbury and will be presented in both concert and staged formats in London (World Heart Beat), Italy, and France, with a full New York City premiere in 2026.

The first performances will be held on Oct. 9 and 10, 2025.
