Vancouver Opera to Showcase Unique ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Adaptation

Vancouver Opera is set to present “The Garden of Alice,” an adaptation of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”

The showcase, set for March 7 – 9, 2025, will feature the talents of members of the Yulanda M. Faris Young Artists Program, including Heidi Duncan (soprano), Simran Claire (mezzo-soprano), Danlie Rae Acebuque (baritone), Lyndon Ladeur (tenor), Derek Stanyer (pianist), and Tayte Mitchell (director). The opera is composed by Canadian artist Elizabeth Raum.

“The VOICES concert series is dedicated to celebrating the human spirit through music, and the support of TD ensures that these concerts remain free and accessible to all,” said Tom Wright, Vancouver Opera General Director, per an official press release. “These concerts give members of our Yulanda M. Faris Young Artists Program an incredible opportunity to perform in front of an intimate audience while engaging with contemporary work.”

The March 7 showcase kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time with the latter two shows on March 8 and 9 set to commence at 2 p.m. local time. The run will be presented as part of the company’s VOICES free concert series, supported by TD.
