Vancouver Opera to Celebrate Philip Glass with Special Concert

Vancouver Opera is set to present “88 Years, 88 Keys: Celebrating the Music of Philip Glass.”

The free concert will be held on Jan. 31 at the Martha Lou Henley Rehearsal Hall and will be part of Vancouver Opera’s VOICES concert series and is supported by TD.

In a statement, Tom Wright, General Director of Vancouver Opera said, “Philip Glass’s music has an unparalleled ability to evoke deep emotion and reflection, and we are thrilled to honour his extraordinary artistry through this special concert. The VOICES series is our way of bringing transformative music to the community, and we are proud to make this accessible to everyone thanks to the support of TD.”

The evening will feature a piano recital by Vancouver Opera Associate Conductor and Chorus Director Leslie Dala, who will perform Phillip Glass’s Piano Etudes, Book 2 in its entirety.
