Tulsa Opera is set to present “The Hobbit” as part of its Tulsa Youth Opera production.

The famed work by J.R.R. Tolkien gets operatic life in a 90-minute adaptation by Dean Burry that will showcase singers from grades three through 12. Artists include Emma Greenaway as Bilbo Baggins, Damian Alberti as Gandalf, Nicholas Hoover as Thorin, Lola Benedict as Elrond, Ella Hawkins as Thranduil, and Brock Cannon as Gollum. Aaron Beck conducts the Tulsa Opera Orchestra.

“Collaborating with these talented and imaginative young performers has been such a joy,” said Tulsa Opera Director of Community Engagement and stage director Dani Keil, per an official press release. “The students are bringing Bilbo’s adventure to life with creativity and heart, and I am excited for audiences to be captivated by these incredible young artists and the magic of Tolkien’s world.”

The company previously produced “The Hobbit” in 2016.

The performances take place on June 7 and 8 at Gussman Concert Hall at the University of Tulsa.
