Toledo Opera announced its partnership with Toledo Lucas County Public Library and media partner WGTE Public Media to present a full day of free events in anticipation of Rossini’s “Cinderella.”

On Sept. 21 from 9 am until 4:30 p.m. the Sylvania Branch Library will host a variety of opera-related events. The morning kicks off with interviews of the Toledo Opera staff and Cinderella creatives, followed by a story time, and a live performance of scenes from the opera. The cast will do interviews in the afternoon. Closing out the day is a screening on the 2020 OOW production of “Cinderella.”

Other events leading up to the opera include the Cinderella Royal-Tea on Sept. 23 and a coloring contest for three age divisions with winners receiving complimentary tickets to the show.

Toledo Library Executive Director Jason Kucsma said in a press release, “We’re thrilled to host the Toledo Opera at Sylvania Branch for Cinderella Day. The Opera has consistently brought world-class performances to the community, contributing cultural enrichment of our region.”
