The Crossing to Release Weekly Recordings with Series 2 of ‘Rising w/ The Crossing: Equinox Lope’

By Logan Martell

On July 6, 2020, Donald Nally and Grammy Award-winning choir The Crossing have launched Series 2 of “Rising w/ The Crossing: Equinox Lope.”

Every Monday at sunrise, the organization will release a full recording of a live concert from past works. Each broadcast will also include the original program, along with texts and composer notes, which will be available for one week after the broadcast.

“Rising w’ The Crossing: Equinox Lope” kicked off Monday with The Crossing’s November 2017 concert of national anthems, where the ensemble is joined by the string section of the International Contemporary Ensemble for the works of Caroline Shaw, Ted Hearne, and David Lang.

Series 1 ran from the Spring Equinox to the Summer Solstice, releasing daily recordings that have since garnered attention from the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, NPR, and has been archived by The Library of Congress for its cultural significance.
