The Cecilia Chorus of New York Performs in Carnegie Hall With Cyrus Chestnut

Pianist Cyrus Chestnut and the Cecilia Chorus of New York present Headlining Performance at Carnegie Hall on April 19.

Joining Chestnut and the Cecilia Chorus of New York are soloists Nicoletta Berry, Charlotte Small, Travon Walker, and Matthew Anchel. Together they perform Beethoven’s “Christ on the Mount of Olives” and the premiere of Chestnut’s “Power in the Blood.” Mark Shapiro conducts.

“Power in the Blood” is the first commissioned headlining performance at Carnegie Hall. The cycle of spirituals is arranged for chorus, vocal soloists, and acoustic jazz trio.
