Finger Lakes Opera Unveils 2024 Summer Festival

Finger Lakes Opera has unveiled its 2024 summer festival.

The festival opens with a Juneteenth Celebration that features the Mount Olivet Sanctuary Choir with Wings of Praise Flag Ministry and FLO singers that are part of the cast for its world premiere this season.

Performance Date: June 14, 2024

Then comes “Out Loud at the Mag” with the 2024 Young Artists.

Performance Date: June 26, 2024

At the core of the program is the world premiere of “Two Corners,” the first commission by the company. Th opera by B.E. Boykin and Jarrod Lee explores the relationship between Florine, a Black woman, and Sarah, a white woman during the Civil Rights Era in Alabama. The opera stars Kearstin Piper Brown as Florine.

Performance Date: June 28 & 30, 2024

Closing out the season is “Gianni Schicchi.” Gerard Floriano conducts the performance which features the 2024 Young Artists.
