The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced a cast change for “L’Elisir d’Amore.”

The company revealed that John Osborn is withdrawing from the production “due to an unexpected commitment.” In his stead, the role of Nemorino will be performed by Francesco Meli.

Meli recently performed in Verdi’s Requiem with the Munich Philharmonic. He will be appearing in productions of “Un Ballo in Maschera,” “Il Corsaro,” “La Battaglia di Legnano,” and “Simon Boccanegra” throughout 2024.

Meli joins a cast that includes Nina Minasyan, Lodovvico Filippo Ravizza, Roberto de Candia, and Yulia Tkachenko. The production is directed Daniele Menghini and conducted by Sesto Quatrini.
