Teatro dell’Opera di Roma Record High TV Viewership

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has broken yet another record with its “La Traviata” film.

The company announced that 967,000 viewers tuned in on April 9 on Rai 3 to watch the premiere of “La Traviata” directed by Mario Martone and starring Lisette Oropesa.

In a statement superintendent, Carlos Fuortes said, “The high number demonstrates that there is great appreciation for our new ‘La Traviata’ production.”

“La Traviata” is currently available on RayPlay (for audiences in Italy) and is conducted by Daniele Gatti. Oropesa is joined by Saimi Pirgu and Roberto Frontali in the lead roles.

The new production is the fourth production by the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma designed under COVID-19 regulations. It follows “Rigoletto” at the Circo Massimo, “Zaide” at the Teatro Costanzi and “Il barbiere di Siviglia” which was filmed for televisiona and was conducted by Gatti and directed Martone. The company also presented a concert performance of “I Puritani” via stream.
