The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is set to present Bellini’s “I Puritani” as part of the company’s Teatro Digitale series.

The opera, which has not been presented at the theater since 1990, will be performed in a concert version starring Jessica Pratt and Lawrence Brownlee on Jan. 23.

The performance will be conducted by Roberto Abbado and will also star Franco Vassallo and Roberto Lorenzi. Artists from the “Fabbrica” Young Artist Program del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Rodrigo Ortiz, and Irene Savignano will round out the cast.

Audiences can watch the performance on the company’s YouTube channel for free with a suggested in-kind donation to the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s “I love Roma Opera aperta” campaign.

“I Puritani” will be presented without an audience and represents the latest digital work for the Roma theater, which opened its 2020-21 season in December with a digital production of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.”
