By Francisco Salazar

On Oct. 22, the Teatro Carlo Felice will present a concert entitled “Francia e America.”

The concert will showcase Copland’s Concerto for clarinet and orchestra as well as William Grant Still’s Afro-American Symphony and Berlioz’s “Les nuits d’été.”

Soloists will include Clarinetist Valeria Serangeli and Mezzo-soprano Dame Sarah Connolly. Riccardo Minasi will lead the Orchestra dell’Opera Carlo Felice Genova.

This is the second concert in the season following the inaugural concert. The season will also include Brahms Requiem, and a New Year’s Eve concert. The opera season recently opened “The Turn of the Screw” and is set to present a production of Donizetti’s masterful “Lucia di Lammermoor.”
