Tête à Tête Unveils 2026 Season & Opera Festival Slate

Tête à Tête announces the lineup for its 2026 season and Opera Festival.

Mainstage 

First up is “The Rain Show,” by Shaka Lwaki and Nami Shah. This production is put on in partnership with Baraka Opera Kenya and Across Arts.

Performance Dates: April 2025, 2026


“Fantasy & Fairytales” features works by Daniel Musashi, Lasha Kharkhelauri, Asher Joyce, Deniz Dortok, and Ruvin Meda. Bill Bankes-Jones directs and Sarah Jane Booth is the designer. Michael Rosewell conducts.

Performance Dates: July 3– 6, 2026


The Opera Festival

Caitlin Redding performs in her “Between” with Maria Voronkova directing and Pau Cadena Colell conducting.

Performance Date: Sept. 8, 2026


“Eight Days- The Last Days of Mary, Queen of Scots” by Louis Mander and Louisa Petaï is performed. Petaï stars alongside actor Kieran Rayner.

Performance Date: Sept. 9, 2026


The first Act of “The History of Mr Polly” is next.

Performance Date: Sept. 9, 2026


“Orpheus and Eurydice” is performed.

Performance Date: Sept. 10, 2026


ÀLÁ’s reimagined song cycle “Frauenliebe und Leben” is presented.

“The Dunwich Horror” is up next.

Rowan Lark’s “The Rag Animals” is performed.

Performance Date: Sept. 11, 2026


Anna Vienna Ho performs in her “The Trial of Four,” the final installation of the “Disciples” cycle. Michael CT Lam directs.

“Making Europe Audible” by Catherine Kontz and Henri Växby is performed by soprano Johanna Greulich, pianist Clemens Hund-Göschel, and percussionist Louisa Marxen.

“From the Edda” by Max Mitchell is performed by soprano Eyra Norman and pianist Alexander Wigglesworth.

Performance Date: Sept. 13, 2026


New operas, “Of Earth and Quill 2” and “A Different Kind of Heartbreak” are presented.

Performance Date: Sept. 15, 2026


Matthew Thomason and Elizabeth Ellis’ “Arlodhes a Shallott” is performed by soprano Elizabeth Freeborn. She is joined by
cellist Kath Buckler and Thomason at the piano.

“Drevo,” a meditative work on folk culture of Belarus is up next.

Performance Date: Sept. 16, 2026


“Emma or Emily” is performed.

Performance Date: Sept. 17, 2026


The AI sci-fi opera, “Androida” (or “Robots have no feelings”) is performed by soprano Sian Sulke. Joe Austin directs. Jacques Cohen leads the Cohen Ensemble.

The opera “Fort,” by Joy Ingle is based on the play by Tabitha Hayward is directed by Walter Hall directs.

Performance Date: Sept. 18, 2026


“Azovstal” is presented next.

Performance Date: Sept. 18, 2026


Closing the Festival is “The Breaking Point,” a chamber opera cycle, presented in collaboration with Royal Academy of Music. “Broken Ivy” by Florence Lloyd and Vivian Bayliss, “Fence Off!” by Ruben Doda and Rebekah King, “The Promise” by Ng Kwun Ho, Jerry Fryderyk, and Courtney Cousins, and “Meet The Philips” by Alessandro Mackinnon-Botti and Wilkie Robson make up the program. Performers include Ian Gillis, Miro Treharne, Jerry Fryderyk, Miyu Himeta, Alexander Thow, Annabel Jeanes, Kathy Macaulay, Teyfik Kamal, and Lilian Noble. Sophie Daneman directs.
