Mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford and tenor Andrew Staples are set to appear at the Ojai Festival 2020.

The pair of singers are set to interpret “Das Lied von der Erde” in an arrangements by Glenn Cortese alongside the Ensemble Intercontemporain and conductor Matthias Pintscher. The concert, which takes place at the Libbey Bowl, will also feature music of Zappa and Varèse. The concert is set for June 14, 2020 at 11 a.m.

The California-based festival kicks off on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and will take place at such venues as the Zalk Theatre, and Ojai Presbyterian Church.

“Ojai is truly a magical place that allows all of us to find out more about ourselves,” Matthias Pintscher, Music Director of the Festival, said in a press release,  Here we can take risks, be bold, be introspective, and dare to wade towards the unknown, even the big unknown inside ourselves. Working and living in NYC and Paris I naturally wanted to create the vision of building a musical “invisible bridge” between two equally strong musical cultures – how they clash with, and yet complete each other today. It is a journey and it is my privilege to take you by the hand and to walk with you in this beautiful sonic garden where we are all invited to explore and discover together.”
