
Selva Vocal e Instrumental to Perform Sacred Music Program in San Isidro
By David SalazarSelva Vocal e Instrumental, under the direction of Andrés Gerszenzon, will present a program of sacred vocal and instrumental works on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Cathedral of San Isidro in Argentina.
The program draws on repertoire from the sixteenth through eighteenth centuries and centers on themes of mourning, penitence, and mercy. It features music by Tomás Luis de Victoria, Emilio de Cavalieri, Marin Marais, François Couperin, and Marc Antoine Charpentier. The showcase ends with the Argentine premiere of František Ignác Antonín Tůma’s “Stabat Mater.”
The performance features sopranos Mercedes García Blesa and Marisú Pavón, altos Griselda Adano and Gabriela Fabre, tenors Ricardo González Dorrego and Pablo Pollitzer, and baritones Sergio Carlevaris and Tadeo Painefil, joined by Laura Fainstein on theorbo, José Papotto on viola da gamba, Ramiro Argüello on harpsichord, and Marcelo Dutto on organ.
The performances kicks off at 4 p.m. local time.
