Ryan Speedo Green & Michelle DeYoung Headline San Diego Symphony’s Fall 2021 Season

The San Diego Symphony has announced its fall 2021 season, which represents its first at The Rady Shell.

The season is being moved to an outdoor program venue and runs through November 14, 2021. For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal and operatic performances.

Ryan Speedo Green will be among the many soloists of the opening gala performance which aims to celebrate conductor Rafael Payare. Green will perform arias from “Faust,” “The Barber of Seville” and “South Pacific.” The concert will also feature music by Saint-Saëns, Mason Bates, Romero, Gershwin, and Stravinsky.

Performance Date: August 6, 2021

Michelle DeYoung will perform Mahler’s “Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen.” The program, which will be conducted by Rafael Payare, will also feature Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony and other music that is yet to be announced.

Performance Date: Oct. 16 & 17, 2021 

There will also be several concerts showcasing the best of Broadway as well as concert performances of the musical “Chicago.”
