Rossini Opera Festival Announces 2021 Repertory

The Rossini Opera Festival has announced plans for the 2021 season.

In a press statement superintendent, Ernesto Palacio said that the operas originally planned for the 2020 season will be moved to the 2021 edition.

The season, which will be held between August 9 and 21, will showcase three new productions including “Moïse et Pharaon” with Giacomo Sagripanti conducting and Pier Luigi Pizzi directing. The company will also present “Il signor Bruschino” with Michele Spotti conducting and Barbe & Doucet directing.

The final production will be “Elisabetta regina d’Inghilterra” with Evelino Pidò conducting and Davide Livermore directing.

Rossini’s Stabat Mater will be directed by Massimo Gasparon and conducted by Jader Bignamini.

Thi year, the Rossini Opera Festival opens on August 8 and will present a new production of “La Cambiale di Matrimonio” and “Il Viaggio a Reims.”
