In a statement, Jiří Heřman said, “It is absolutely crucial for me to collaborate in opera with conductors who are not only focused on the musical component of the work, but are also able to perceive and develop the stage performance of the work in cooperation with the production teams. Conductor Robert Kružík fulfills this abundantly, he is my long-time collaborator, I respect him for his exceptional artistic and human qualities. I have decided to reduce the positions of two music directors of the National Theatre from the 2028-2029 season to the post of one music director for all musical components of the National Theatre Opera and the State Opera.”
