PBS Announces Broadcast Date for Roberto Alagna & Aleksandra Kurzak’s Met Stars Live in Concert Performance

PBS has announced that it will be broadcasting Roberto Alagna and Aleksandra Kurzak’s performance from the Met Stars Live in Concert series on June 4, 2021.

The showcase, which took place in August 2020, featured the famed opera couple live from Èze in France performing music by Puccini, Donizetti, Rossini, Gounod, Verdi, and Léhar, among others.

In his OperaWire review of the performance, Dejan Vukosavljevic noted that, “In sum, this was by leaps and bounds the best performance of this series to date. Roberto Alagna and Aleksandra Kurzak offered up a night of unforgettable performance on the Mediterranean, with the truly sublime singing and acting full of irresistible energy. The choice of program also allowed for an ebb and flow that matched the shifting nature of the gorgeous environment.”

This is the latest in the series to be broadcast. Other upcoming concert broadcasts will star Anna NetrebkoSonya YonchevaBryn Terfel, Angel Blue, and Joyce DiDonato, among others.
