Sonya Yoncheva Headlines Met Stars Live in Concert Series

Sonya Yoncheva will continue the Metropolitan Opera’s “Met Stars Live in Concert” series on Feb. 27, 2021.

The concert, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. EST, will feature the superstar live from the Schussenried Cloister in southwest Germany

The soprano will perform opera arias from “Aida,” “Le Villi,” “Il Trovatore” “Dido and Aeneas,” “Rinaldo,” “Carmen,” “La Boheme,” “Rusalka,” and “Madam Butterfly.” She will also perform a song by Edith Piaf.

Julien Quentin will accompany on piano.

The recital will be streamed live via the Met website and will then be available on-demand for 14 days after the premiere. The concert was originally scheduled to take place on Nov. 21, 2020 but was then scheduled for Nov. 27, 2021 when Yoncheva fell ill. It was then rescheduled for Feb. 27, 2021.

Yoncheva’s recital will be followed in this series by a concert featuring Angel Blue. Blue will perform in New York on a date to be announced.
