Paulina Francisco, Shelén Hughes, Jacqueline Echols, Justin Austin, Amanda Forsythe Headline Caramoor 2024 Season

Caramoor has announced its summer 2024 season.

Here is a rundown of the classical vocal performances on offer.

Kicking things off is a Pride Month celebration with tenor Jasmine Rice LaBeija, presented in collaboration with The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center.

Performance Date: June 13, 2024

Roomful of Teeth will present works by Caroline Shaw, Angelica Negrón, Peter Shin, William Brittelle, and Leilehua Lanzilotti.

Performance Date: June 28, 2024

Soprano Shelén Hughes and tenor César Parreño headline “Pops, Patriots, & Fireworks” alongside the Westchester Symphonic Winds and conductor Curt Ebersole. The program features works by Bock, Sousa, Stafford Smith, Puccini, Williams, and Sheldon, among others.

Performance Date: July 4, 2024

Les Arts Florissants will present “The Fairy Queen” in a production directed and choreographed by Mourad Merzouki. Paulina Francisco, Georgia Burashko, Rebecca Leggett, Juliette Mey, Rodrigo Carreto, Ilja Aksionov, Hugo Herman-Wilson, and Benjamin Schilperoort star.

Damien Sneed, Jacqueline Echols, and Justin Austin headline “Our Song, Our Story: The New Generation of Black Voices.” They are joined by the Griot String Quartet in a program featuring works by Sneed, Puccini, Gershwin, Blanchard, Smith, Perkinson, Strauss, Copland, and Margaret Bonds, among others.

Soprano Amanda Forsythe performs alongside Apollo’s Fire in a program featuring works by Vivaldi, Marais, and Händel.
