David Reiland has been named Principal Conductor of the Orchestre de Picardie.

Reiland will begin his tenure during the 2027-28 season after concluding his tenure as music director of the Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est. He succeeds German conductor Johanna Malangré, who had served as music director of the Orchestre de Picardie since September 2022.

From  2012 to 2018, Reiland was the Artistic and Music Director of the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg and has also worked with the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Lausanne and Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.

Reiland has also collaborated with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester. As an opera conductor, he has conducted at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Vlaamse Opera, the Oper Leipzig, the Opéra de Lausanne, the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg, the Korean National Opera and the Komische Oper Berlin.
