By Francisco Salazar

The Palm Opera Opera has announced a cast change for its production of “Roméo et Juliette.”

The company noted that Kathryn Lewek will sing the role of Juliette, replacing the originally scheduled Amina Edris.

Lewek took to social media and said, “I am delighted to announce that I’ll be at the BEACH for the next few weeks! ALSO  when I get tired of the sunshine and balmy breezes, I will be singing the role of Juliette with Palm Beach Opera in Tara Faircloth’s production of Roméo et Juliette! I’m thrilled to return to PBO for a second season in a row to join such a stellar cast which includes Long Long as Romeo, and my buddy Bernardo Medeiros from Nashville Opera’s Carmen, with my friend Maestro David Stern on the podium. Performances on January 24th and 26th! Get your tickets now!”

Lewek has performed the role of Juliette at the Toledo Opera. She is recognized for her role of the Queen of the Night in “The Magic Flute,” recently having performed it at the Met. This season, Lewek also performs Musetta in “La Bohème” at Opera Colorado and a Concert with Zach Borichevsky at the Danbury Concert Association.

Lewek joins a cast that includes Long Long, Bernardo Medeiros, Alfred Walker, and Aleksey Bogdanov.
