Tiroler Festspiele Erl’s Winter Season Succeeds Under Jonas Kaufmann’s Leadership

Jonas Kaufmann has succeeded in his first winter season as Artistic Director of the Tiroler Festspiele Erl.

According to reports, the theater obtained 7,600 visitors and sold 94 percent of its theater.

The theater said, “Record compared to previous winter festivals. Most performances were sold out.”

The tenor’s first winter season included a highly successful new production of “La Bohème” directed by Bárbara Lluch. The three performances were sold out. It also included two star-studded performances of “I Puritani” featuring Jessica Pratt and Lisette Oropesa and a New Year’s gala.

Up next, Kaufmann takes the stage in a new production of “Parsifal” in Erl for the company’s Spring season followed by a star-studded Summer season featuring artists like Lise Davidsen, Pretty Yende, Anita Rachvelishvili, Luca Salsi, and Ludovic Tézier.
