Opera Southwest Unveils New Year’s Eve Gala

New Mexico’s Opera Southwest has announced a New Year’s Eve Concert at the National Hispanic Cultural Center-Journal Theatre in Albuquerque.

The event will feature music by Mozart and Verdi as performed by such artists as Claudia Chapa, Michelle Johnson, Zaikuan Song, and David Walton. They will be conducted by Anthony Barese.

The showcase kicks off at 2:30 p.m. and will have a duration of about two hours. Following the performance, there will be a party at La Fonda del Bosque starting at 5:30 p.m. During the party, audience members will be treated to a sit-down dinner, wine, and a champagne toast.

Opera Southwest was established in 1972 and is currently celebrating its 51st anniversary season.
