Copenhagen Opera Festival Announces 2026 Program Featuring Nicole Car, Levy Sekgapane, Freddie De Tommaso, Allison Cook & Andreas Scholl

Part two of Niels Rønsholdt and director Louise Beck’s opera trilogy, “Right of The Strong – The Duty of the Weak” is held.
Performance Dates: Aug. 13 – 17, 2026
Soprano Elisabeth Rosenberg, tenor Gustav Wenzel Most, and pianist Charlotte Thaning perform works by Tchaikovsky, Wagner, and Schubert live along Copenhagen’s canals.

“Ride! Sing! Repeat!” features sopranos Katrin Helena Kuslap and Hedvig Stenstdt, mezzo-soprano Mia Bergström, baritone Marcus Dawson, and accordion player Adam Ørvad.

Soprano Laura Helene Hansen and pianist Steven Moore give the “Opera Talent of the Year” concert.

Puccini’s “La Rondine” gets its Denmark debut with sopranos Helle Gössler Christensen and Marie Dreisig, tenor Jonathan Koppel, and baritone Asmus Hanke Frederiksen.

The “Opera Sing-Along” features Danish songs, arias from “Carmen,” “Rigoletto,” and more led by conductor Anne Marie Granau and pianist Christian Sereno.

“The best of La Bohème” stars sopranos Nicole Car and Alexandra Oomens, tenor Freddie De Tommaso, baritones Etienne Dupuis and Asmus Hanke, and basses Morten Staugaard and Nicolai Elsberg. Steven Moore is the choir director. Natascha Metherell directs and Tobias Ringborg conducts the Tivoli Copenhagen Phil.

“The Ring – Forever Hot” by Anna Sofie Keller Brandsborg, Marlene Schleicher og, and Kirstine Fogh Vindelev features sopranos Laura Helene Hansen and Katrine Deleuran, mezzo-sopranos Sophie Haagen, Laura Mayer, and Hanna Leonora Hollesen, tenor Alex Friis Nielsen, baritone Martin Hatlo, and Thorbjørn Radisch Bredkjær.
