Brian Jagde has canceled his upcoming performances at the Arena di Verona and Puccini Festival due to health issues.
The tenor took to social media and said, ” I hope you’re all having a good summer and spending time with friends & family. I was looking forward to enjoying some time off myself in between performances this month, but unfortunately I’m recovering from urgent surgeries that I needed to address lingering issues from my health challenges last year. I am very sorry not to make my debut at Festival Puccini Torre del Lago this weekend, and also to miss the Turandot performances at the Arena di Verona this month, a place I always love to sing in the summer.”
He added, “I’m already feeling better and turning corners thanks to a dedicated medical team, and my own personal team as well. The recovery process is moving in the right direction, and I’m feeling focused and stronger every day! Thank you all for your support, and I look forward to getting back on stage and singing for you again soon.”
As a result Jorge de Leon will sing the role of Calaf at the Puccini Festival on August 1 while a replacement for his Sept. 11 performance in Verona has not been announced.
