The Three Choirs Festival releases the highlights of its Worcester 2027 season.

The Festival runs July 24-31, 2027.

Britten’s “War Requiem” is performed by soloists soprano Elizabeth Watts, tenor Peter Hoare, and baritone David Stout, with the Festival Chorus and Philharmonia Orchestra.

The Three Cathedral Choirs present Handel’s “Four Coronation Anthems.”

Three Choirs Festival Youth Choir perform Haydn’s “Nelson Mass” alongside Cecilia McDowall’s new work, “Songs of Exile.”

Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” is presented by I Fagiolini.

The RSCM Youth Choir and organist Nathan Laube give an Evensong.

Beethoven’s “Missa solemnis” features soprano Katie Trethewey, mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston, tenor Nick Pritchard, and baritone James Atkinson. The Festival Chorus and the Philharmonia Orchestra also perform.

Elgar’s “The Light of Life,” Walton’s “Orb and Sceptre,” and Strauss’ “Four Last Songs” features soloists soprano Elizabeth Watts, contralto Jess Dandy, tenor Ruairi Bowen, and baritone Marcus Farnsworth. The Festival Chorus and Philharmonia Orchestra join.

“Portraits of a Mind” by Ian Venables is performed by tenor Gwilym Bowen and pianist Misha Kaploukhii.

A “Come and Sing” session of Elgar’s “The Music Makers” is held.

Tenebrae performs Howells’ “Requiem” alongside a new commission by Eric Whitacre.

Details of concerts by Gesualdo Six, baritone James Newby and pianist Rebecca Cohen, mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston and the Consone Quartet, mezzo-soprano Marta Fontanals-Simmons and pianist Lana Bode are to be announced.
