Opera Orlando has announced the third recital in its Summer Concert Series.

The showcase, which is set for August 28, 2022, will star soprano Susan Hellman Spatafora, bass Andrew W. Porter, and pianist Robin Stamper.

The program, entitled “Late Night Encounters,” will feature scenes from Verdi’s “La Forza del Destino” and Carlisle Floyd’s “Susannah.” There will also be art songs by such composers as Alfred Bachelet, Herbert Hughes, and Richard Strauss, among others.

“We are thrilled to feature three Opera Orlando favorites in one concert,” said artistic director Grant Preisser in an official press statement. “With such an exciting variety of repertoire, from solo to duet, art song to opera, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.”

Spatafora has appeared with such companies as Palm Beach Opera, Tampa Opera, Sarasota Opera, Central City Opera, and Gulfshore Opera, among others. She has also appeared with the Glimmerglass Festival and New World Symphony. She will appear in “The Magic Flute” with Opera Orlando in 2022.

Meanwhile, Porter has performed with the Southern Illinois Festival, Tulsa Opera, Indianapolis Opera, and Pacific Opera Project. He is set to perform with Livermore Valley Opera this season.
