
Opera Crown Tbilisi International Voice Competition Announces Schedule & Jury
By David SalazarThe Opera Crown Tbilisi International Voice Competition is set to take place from Nov. 3 – 8, 2025.
The competition, which is in the midst of accepting applications through Oct. 1, 2025, will require contestants to sing two arias with piano for its first rounds and then require finalists to sing two arias with orchestra for the final section of the competition. Competition ages are disparate with women only allowed to feature if they are within the age range of 21 – 30. Meanwhile men are afforded an extra year of viability and allowed to compete from ages 22-32.
The opening ceremony for the competition will take place on Nov. 3 and will feature the competition draw. Then round one takes place on Nov. 4 and 5 while round two is slated for Nov. 6. The final round and the awards presentation is set to take place on Nov. 8, 2025. The first prize winner will receive a prize of $10,000 USD with second prize getting $7,000 USD, and third prize earning $5,000 USD.
The jury includes Badri Maisuradze, General and Artistic Director of the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre; Cecilia Gasdia, General Manager / Sovrintendente of the Fondazione Arena di Verona; Christina Scheppelmann, General and Artistic Director of La Monnaie / De Munt; Per Boye Hansen, Artistic Director of the Prague National Theatre Opera and the State Opera; Angelo Gabirelli of Stage Door; Sofia Rukin of TACT Artists Management, and Olga Rostropovich, Artistic Director of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center and President of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation.
